Former Mountain Pointe standout Alexander commits to Western Oregon
Congratulations to outfielder Jake Alexander (Phoenix Mountain Pointe - 2014) who played the past two seasons at Paradise Valley Community College on committing to play college baseball at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. Alexander played for Brandon Buck at Mountain Pointe and Vic Solis at PVCC and was recruited by 36 different college programs before choosing to be part of the Wolves family.
Western Oregon is an NCAA Division 2 program located in small town Monmouth, just a short drive from Corvallis and Salem and an hour south of Portland.
Alexander joins such former Arizona prep standouts like RHP Alex Roth (Mountain Ridge - 2016) and LHP/1B Connor McCord (Corona del Sol - 2016) in this recruiting class and returning members of the WOU baseball team, including sophomore RHP Jordan Schiefer (Gilbert Campo Verde - 2015), RHP/3B sophomore Koty Fallon (Surprise Valley Vista - 2015) and junior RHP Brady Miller (Gilbert Campo Verde - 2014). Miller was named Freshman Pitcher of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference as a freshman and was an all conference selection last season.
