A new era of baseball is beginning at William Jessup University is just around the corner. The 2017 season marks the beginning of Jake McKinley’s head coaching career at William Jessup. Previously the head coach at Menlo College for 4 seasons, Jake turned the Oaks into one of the most successful NAIA programs on the west coast during his time. Some of his accomplishments include moving numerous players onto professional baseball (including two top 10 round picks in 2016), becoming the winningest coach in Menlo baseball history, and receiving the programs highest ranking in the coaches’ poll (6th in 2017). Joining him at William Jessup from Menlo College are two of his assistants Trevor Paine (hitting and outfield coach) and Tai Mitchell (infield and catching coach). Last season at Menlo College, this staff coached three NAIA All-Americans, the GSAC Player of the Year, the GSAC Pitcher of the year, three players that signed professional contracts, and the nation’s most powerful offense (97 home runs in 54 games).
